KALWOOD ADVERTISING PROMOTION

KALWOOD began in May,1992 after Darrell decided that working for another Promotional Advertising firm was putting more profits into the pockets of a non-resident owner, than was reasonable and fair.

A small, home base design team was commissioned to come up with a way of presenting the name KALWOOD in a Pleasing and Professional way with a hint of the Environment and soft Creative Flair. Darrell chose the name KALWOOD from KAL (from Kalamalka Lake-native word for lake of many colors-in the interior of British Columbia, CANADA) and WOOD from his family name. The logo chosen shows an exact satellite image (cut out) of Okanagan Lake and Kalamalka Lake (small teardrop) on the other side. The coloring of the logo in KALWOOD'S own promotional material is a teal blue for the water and a jade green for the rest of the logo. Comments on the logo range from people who view it as a meandering stream or river to those who see it as a mountain/rolling hills.

The nature of our Promotional Advertising business has changed since KALWOOD began in 1992. Initially as a distributor of mainly hard goods (pens, pins,mags, etc.) over 60% of our sales are now in the supply of promotional soft goods (caps,shirts,jackets,etc.). Most of our products are sources in Canada but often we are led to source additional "Innovative" Promotional Products from the USA, for our clients. With over 3500 suppliers of Promotional Products in the USA and Canada we rarely disappoint a client who is seeking a unique, innovative and useful product, for their specific promotional needs.

The majority of KALWOOD'S business is in Calgary, but with relative demand growing for products Made in Canada, from USA based business, we now are able to send many of our"Canadian Priced" (lower against the US dollar) goods across to the USA with relative ease and with the approval of US Customs one of our Canadian suppliers was so overwhelmed with requests for their premier yet economically priced chocolate products by USA clients that they now have a plant south of the border.

KALWOOD'S Goals are relatively simple and fit well into any successful business plan. Service, Service, and More Service!

Darrell and his associates, operate a business that is open during regular business hours (8:30 am to 5:00 pm. Mountain Standard Time) but has the flexibility to service clients after normal business hours. We are Glad to be in a Business that's primary purpose is giving. It's like Christmas all year long, whether we are giving out KALWOOD products to clients (new and existing) or our clients are buying goods to be distributed to their clients or staff
